       Step-by-step instructions :

Pin New Member Ends can be used in Modeling to override Home > Project Settings > Job > Member Pins > " Default members to disabled restraints ." These instructions assume that setup option is turned on and that you do not currently have Pin New Member Ends turned on.

1 . Invoke Pin New Member Ends using one (1) of the following methods in Modeling :

  • On your ribbon, click the Pin New Member Ends icon. If the icon is not currently on your toolbar, you can add it using the Ribbon Editor . In the Ribbon Editor for Modeling , choose Model -- Member > Pin New Member Ends .
  • Use a keyboard shortcut (if one has been set up). Pin New Member Ends is in the keyboard configuration " Command group " called ' Model -- Member '.
  • Use the appropriate mouse binding in the appropriate mode. In Mode Configuration , the tool can be selected from the " Command group " called ' Model -- Member '.

2 . Add members. For example, Model > Member > Add > Beam .

3 . The members that you added in step 2 will all have auto pins.

Tip: You may, at this point, wish to repeat step 1 to turn Pin New Member Ends off. Simply repeat step 1 to do so.

Note: When you close a Modeling session, Pin New Member Ends is turned off automatically.
